WHR reaches 1 Million mark

WHR Property Consultants has let Zalman House - a 102,000 sq ft modern industrial unit in Stretton near Warrington - to DeVere Group Plc having agreed a new five year lease at £4 per sq ft. This latest transaction saw WHR's industrial department reach new heights as, since the beginning of the year, it has sold or let more than 1million sq ft of industrial space throughout the North West.

Simon Hampson of WHR Property Consultancy commented: "We have noticed a flurry of activity throughout the North West industrial market over the last three months with demand increasing from both occupiers and investors alike. We are looking forward to the remainder of the year with increased optimism as we believe that enquiries will continue to grow - especially around the 30,000 - 80,000 sq ft mark."

Simon continued: "Developers also seem to remain confident that the market will remain strong as highlighted by the number of exciting new schemes due to come to the market in the next 12 months including Merlin in Trafford Park which is set to provide 100,000 sq ft of speculative new build; Orion in Cheadle with 65,000 sq ft of accommodation and Broadfield in Pilsworth with 60,000 sq ft of new space in its final phase."
