Empty Rate Advice

We act on behalf of a variety of clients and have successfully implemented a range of empty rate strategies depended upon the type of property and to its location.

Strategies have been designed on behalf of clients where empty rates may be reduced by between 65% and 77% of the empty rate liability that may be incurred by the owner of a property.

Various strategies are available and, in some instances, it may be possible to completely remove a liability.

1) Acting on behalf of a developer the Billing Authority has been persuaded to remove a liability completely in relation to a vacant office block saving the client in excess of £1.3m.

2) Acting on behalf of a developer we have advised upon completion notices and have delayed their implementation by up to 12 months and hence the liability for empty rates for a corresponding period.
